Say Cheese...

Here is the bunch of us, taken on Thanksgiving by our wonderful friend. I'm actually very thrilled with how it turned out. We are actually all looking...the kids too. :)

Black Friday, bring it on...

So this morning I crawled out of bed at 4:30 am, yes that's right 4:30 AM to go shopping with my mom, my cousin, Anna and my sister, Melissa. We had a blast. We got to WalMart right about 5 to find about a million and twelve people there all looking for that same thing. We were lucky enough to get a couple of V-Smile's, one for each of us and Anna had the joy of listening to some happy customer cuss everyone out in front of her for one reason or another, lol. Happy Holidays to you too, lady! Then it was off to Menards where we had to sit in the car for 15 mins. because they hadn't opened yet. It was really interesting to see all of the people lined up outside just waiting to get in. There was nothing we were really too interested in there so we just kinda sat back and enjoyed the show. Anna and I stuck together while shopping there and were apparently lucky to have gotten in line when we did since my mom & Mel had to stand in line for 30 MINS!!! Anna and I sat in the car in various locations in the parking lot, since we didn't realize it was going to take them 8 years to get out. By the time they re-joined us the sun had decided to make an appearance. Then it was off to Farm and Fleet and then heading out of town. I won't bore you with all of the details, but it really was a fun day.

Highlights include:
* getting some really great deals
* finding some things that I didn't think I was going to be able to get anywhere except Ebay
* laughing our butts off multiple times, for no particular reason
* seeing a friend that I haven't seen in over 5 years
* running into about 20 other people and just getting the chance to chat, if for just a second
* eatting at Hooters (there food kicks major butt)
* having a day child free
* listening to my mom snore in the back of the van on the way home and then laughing histerically about it
* and my favorite, hands down, was just spending time with the girls

and some not so fun things:
* getting up at 4:30 am
* driving around without my headlights on
* having 3 "back seat" drivers
* standing in line for over an hour at one store
* having my brother-in-law scare the pooh right out of me
* having a child free day
* eatting at Hooters (could've done without all of that tata cleavage and butt cleavage)

Overall the day was really really great. I'd do it again in a second. I hope that we can continue to do this for many years to come. Next year we need to get the Aunts to go and the other girl cousins...oh man, can you imagine? What a blast we'll have!!!

Happy Sweet 16 Megan...

So today is my cousin-in-law's 16 birthday. She got a car lastweek at her surprise party and was counting down the days until she could drive it on her own. Well her mom just called me and said that she can't get her license today since she hasn't had her permit for 6 months. How crazy is that...what makes it even worse is that her 6 mths. will be up tomorrow. TOMORROW...what the hell...the DOT won't be open tomorrow. So now this poor girl is going to have to wait until Monday. I'm truely sorry Megan. Enjoy your holiday weekend, Monday will be here before you know it!!!

First blog, what fun...

Okay so this is my first "real" blog. Ya know, other than on myspace. I really don't know what to type and I honestly don't know how long this is really going to last. Hopefully a long time...I think I could really get the hang of it. So what to say? Well Steve just got a wii over the weekend, ya know, Nintendo's newest game console. It really is fun and even Luke can play it quite well. We just got done playing a fun filled family game of bowling on it and while it saddens me to say it, I also find some joy in the fact the Luke kicked my butt. Steve is playing baseball on it right now while Luke is watching closely with some interesting commentary, lol. What else? Today was a crazy day. The kids are all wound for sound, I'm assuming because it's a short week and they are all so excited for the holiday festivities to begin, I know I am. My mom, my cousin and I are hitting the early bird specials on Friday morning and I'm so excited. I hope we get some good deals. Well, I think I'm off...gotta check this thing out more.
